Playing Quarterback

Playing quarterback is every kid's dream growing up in football loving nations.  Playing for the local team, in front of a home crowd, making that amazing match winning pass is something every little boy and girl can appreciate from an early age.  From that first ball thrown in the playground, you can go along way in a very short time with hard work and commitment.

As we get older, most of us don't follow through these dreams as we become tangled in academia and career-centric.  However, by playing quarterback for your local team, you can realize your dream, albeit on a slightly less grand scale.  Even the best had to start somewhere, and by getting involved in your local area, you can give yourself the best possible chance of making a career out of football, or stepping up to a semi-professional level.

Playing quarterback demands skill and dexterity when it comes to ball handling, and you should also be fairly competent as an all-rounder to cement your position in the team.  In addition to that, you should also be swift on your feet, and have a great eye for the game and perception of player movements and psychology.  All in a day's work for a start quarterback...

If you're interested in playing quarterback, your best bet is to join a local team and start working your way up.  Go to training, and try your hardest.  Don't just settle for one training session with the team a week.  If you want to go far, you're going to need to completely change your diet and lifestyle.  Get down to the local gym and work on your physical fitness and strength by using a variety of different training mechanisms.  Additionally, try circuit training in order to build your stamina.  All the dedication, hard work, sweat and tears should eventually pay off as you notice an improvement in your overall game, which is the first step to playing quarterback.

Playing football is not only a great sporting endeavour, but it also helps improve your confidence and social skills.  Sport is an essential aspect of personal and social development, and by sticking at it, you could achieve some level of personal success, as well as benefiting from the other life skills it can provide.  All in all, football is a great sport, and if you work hard, and are committed to the task in hand, you might play quarterback one day like your heroes on the field.
